What is DDU RET 2025?
The Research Entrance Test (RET) 2025 is conducted by DDUGU for admission to Ph.D. programmes across multiple disciplines. The entrance test and admission process are carried out as per the Ph.D. Ordinance 2024 and guidelines issued by the University’s Research & Development Cell .

DDU RET Application Form 2025: Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the DDU RET application form 2025, candidates must meet the following eligibility conditions:
- A 2-year / 4-semester Master’s degree or equivalent with minimum 55% marks
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS/PwD categories are eligible for 5% relaxation
- Candidates who have completed M.Phil. with at least 55% marks are also eligible
- Post-graduation must be completed on or before the 2024–25 session
DDU RET 2025: Exempted Category
The following candidates are exempted from appearing in the RET exam:
- Regular teachers of DDU Gorakhpur University and its Government/Aided affiliated colleges.
- Such candidates must still submit the DDU RET application form 2025 along with the prescribed fee.
- 10% supernumerary seats are available for RET-exempted candidates.
DDU RET 2025 Selection Process
The selection for Ph.D. admission through DDU RET 2025 involves:
Entrance Test (RET):
- 70 multiple-choice questions
- Each question carries 1 mark
Interview / Viva-Voce:
- Weightage: 30%
- Candidates must present their research interests before the Departmental Research Committee (DRC)
Final merit is prepared based on: RET score + Interview performance .
