Central Railway is offering apprenticeship training in multiple technical trades. These positions will help candidates gain practical experience in railway workshops and operational units.

Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must satisfy the eligibility requirements mentioned in the official notification before applying.
- Minimum Age: 15 years
- Maximum Age: 24 years
- Age relaxation is provided as per government rules:
- Passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with at least 50% aggregate marks
- Possessed an ITI certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT or SCVT
Candidates holding engineering degrees or diplomas are not eligible for this apprenticeship scheme.
Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
The selection process for Central Railway apprentices is based purely on academic merit. There will be no written exam or interview.
The merit list will be prepared using the following criteria:
- Marks obtained in 10th class
- Marks obtained in ITI in the relevant trade
The final merit list will be prepared trade-wise, unit-wise, and category-wise.
If two candidates obtain the same marks, preference will be given to the candidate with higher age, and if the tie continues, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier will be ranked higher.
Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Stipend for Apprentices
Selected candidates will receive a stipend during the training period according to the guidelines issued by the Railway Board.
