The GDS engagement is conducted online and selections are made purely on Class 10 merit. Candidates are engaged mainly in rural and semi-urban post offices to support postal and banking services.

  • Branch Postmaster (BPM): A BPM manages the daily functioning of a Branch Post Office. Selected candidates must arrange suitable accommodation for the post office and reside in the same village.
  • Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM): ABPM assists the BPM in mail delivery, postal transactions, IPPB services, and marketing of postal products. They may also perform BPM duties when required.
  • Dak Sevak: Dak Sevaks handle mail delivery, sale of stamps, IPPB transactions, and assist in post office operations. They may also work in RMS or departmental offices.

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 40 years

Educational Qualification
