UP Police Constable Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for UP Police Constable Recruitment 2025 must fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB). Eligibility is determined on the basis of nationality, educational qualification, age limit, and physical standards.
1. Nationality
The applicant must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A Tibetan refugee who migrated to India before 1 January 1962, or
- A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, or Ethiopia with the intention of permanent settlement in India
Such candidates must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
2. Educational Qualification
- The candidate must have passed Intermediate (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution.
- Educational qualification must be completed on or before the last date of application.
3. Age Limit (as on 01 July 2025)
For Male Candidates
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 22 years
For Female Candidates
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 25 years
- OBC / SC / ST candidates: Relaxation as per norms
- Ex-Servicemen: As per government rules
- EWS candidates: No age relaxation (only reservation benefit)
4. Physical Eligibility Criteria
(a) Height Requirement
Male Candidates
- General / OBC / SC: 168 cm
- ST: 160 cm
Female Candidates
- General / OBC / SC: 152 cm
- ST: 147 cm
(b) Chest Measurement (Only for Male Candidates)
- Unexpanded: 79 cm
- Expanded: 84 cm
Relaxation in chest measurement is applicable for reserved categories as per rules.
5. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Eligibility
Candidates qualifying the written examination and physical standards test must clear the Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- Male Candidates: 4.8 km run in 25 minutes
Female Candidates:
2.4 km run in 14 minutes
6. Medical & Character Eligibility
- Candidates must be medically fit according to police standards
- Should not suffer from any disqualifying physical or mental condition
- Must possess good moral character
- Candidates dismissed from government service or convicted of serious offences are not eligible

According to the official notification:
- Correction Start Date: 31 January 2026 (06:00 AM)
- Correction Last Date: 03 February 2026 (06:00 AM)
Candidates must complete all corrections before the deadline, as no further opportunity will be provided.
