RRB NTPC Graduate Level Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the RRB NTPC Graduate Level Recruitment 2025, candidates must meet specific eligibility conditions set by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).
Nationality / Citizenship
A candidate must belong to one of the following categories:
- Indian Citizen
- Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement
- Person of Indian origin who migrated from:
- Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Ethiopia, Vietnam, Tanzania, or Zaire for permanent settlement in India
Age Limit (as per official notification)
For RRB NTPC Graduate posts:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 33 Years
To apply for Graduate Level NTPC posts, the candidate must have:
- A valid Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university in India.
Additional Skills/Requirements (Post-Specific)
Some posts require specific skills:- Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist
- Senior Clerk-cum-Typist
- 30 wpm in English, OR
- 25 wpm in Hindi
- Candidates must satisfy the prescribed medical category for the post (A-2, A-3, B-1, B-2, etc.).
- Vision standards and physical fitness vary by post (e.g., Station Master, Goods Train Manager).
Medical Standards
Selection is subject to clearing the Railway medical exam, which ensures candidates are physically and medically fit for their chosen post.
Common medical categories include:
- A-2: For safety-critical posts like Station Master
- Aye-One / Aye-Two: For goods operations & traffic roles
- B-1/B-2: For clerical and office roles
Failing the medical test results in disqualification from that post.
RRB NTPC Graduate Level Recruitment 2025: Selection Process
The recruitment process consists of multiple stages. Every candidate must clear each stage (as applicable to their post).
Computer-Based Test (CBT – Stage 1)
This is the first screening test. Objective-type exam with multiple-choice questions.
Subjects include:
- General Awareness
- Mathematics
- General Intelligence & Reasoning
Shortlisting for Stage 2 is based on merit and vacancy.
Computer-Based Test (CBT – Stage 2)
- More detailed and tougher than CBT-1.
- Subjects are the same but with higher difficulty.
- Post-wise cut-offs are applied.
- Final shortlisting for skill/aptitude tests happens from here (post-dependent).
Typing Skill Test (TST) – For Typist Posts Only
Applicable for:
- ✔ Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist
- ✔ Senior Clerk-cum-Typist
Typing Requirements:
- 30 wpm in English OR
- 25 wpm in Hindi
- (Only qualifying—marks not added to merit.)
Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) – For Station Master & Traffic Assistant
Mandatory for:
- ✔ Station Master
- ✔ Traffic Assistant
Must score a minimum of 42 marks in each test battery.
Extremely important because CBAT marks are added to the final merit.
Document Verification (DV)
Candidates qualified after CBT + TST/CBAT (whichever is applicable) are called for DV.
Documents required include:
- Matric & Graduation certificates
- Photo ID
- Category certificates
- Medical certificates (if needed)
- Other eligibility proofs
Medical Examination (ME)
Railways have strict medical standards depending on the post.
Examples:
- A-2 for Station Master
- Aye-One / Aye-Two for Goods Train Manager
- Vision tests, physical fitness, and overall health checks.
Only medically fit candidates are considered for final appointment.
Final Merit List & Posting
Prepared based on:
- CBT-2 marks
- CBAT marks (for applicable posts)
- Reservation rules
- Document & medical fitness status
