I recently appeared for the LLB 3-Year Entrance Examination conducted under AUPGAT 2025 by Allahabad University, and I’d like to share my personal experience and insights for future aspirants.

Questions Asked in the AUPGAT 2025 LLB 3-Year Entrance Exam


The exam duration was 2 hours (120 Minutes), consisting of a total of 150 questions carrying a maximum of 300 marks. One of the most student-friendly aspects of this exam is that there is no negative marking, which allows candidates to attempt all questions without fear of losing marks for incorrect answers.

Questions Asked in the AUPGAT 2025 LLB 3-Year Entrance Exam

The LLB 3-Year question paper of Allahabad University is divided into three sections, which I will explain in detail below along with memory-based questions that were asked in this year’s exam. Please note that these questions are based on memory, as both the question paper and OMR sheet were submitted to the invigilators after the exam.

Section-Wise Breakdown of Questions Asked in the AUPGAT 2025 LLB 3-Year Entrance Exam

Now, let’s begin discussing the questions that were asked in the LLB entrance exam, section by section. I will share a few exact questions, along with some topic references or subject domains from which the questions were framed. However, I won’t be providing the answers — that part is for you to research and prepare on your own.

Part I: Language Comprehension

The Language Comprehension section of the AUPGAT 2025 LLB 3-Year Entrance Exam consists of 50 questions in total, divided equally between Hindi (25 questions) and English (25 questions).

Hindi Section: Key Topics Covered

In the Hindi portion, a wide range of topics were covered. Some of the questions asked this year included:

  • Paryayvachi (Synonym) of the word Badal
  • Grammar-based questions: 1 question each from Kriya (Verb), Sarvnaam (Pronoun), Sandhi, Samas, Vakya Shuddhi (Sentence Correction), moohabre and Karak
  • Vocabulary-related questions: Vilom (Antonym) and word origin – identifying which language certain words were borrowed from
  • Literature-based questions: Questions on Sahitya Awards, famous books and authors
  • A unique question like: "Kis mein maatraayein count ki jaati hain?" (In what do we count matras?)
  • Plus, several other memory-based questions focusing on general Hindi language proficiency

English Section: Key Topics Covered

In the English portion of the Language Comprehension section, the question pattern was straightforward and did not include any reading comprehension passage, which is often common in similar exams.

Some of the key areas from which questions were asked include:

  • Direct and Indirect Speech
  • Active and Passive Voice
  • Question Tags
  • Antonyms and Synonyms
  • Correct form of the verb
  • Sentence Correction
  • Idioms and Phrases – for example, the meaning of "snake in the grass"
  • Additional grammar-based and vocabulary-based questions to assess overall language proficiency

 Part II: General Awareness & Current Affairs

The General Awareness & Current Affairs section in the AUPGAT 2025 LLB 3-Year Entrance Exam was quite diverse and challenging, putting students to the test with questions from a wide range of topics. This section required not just regular preparation but also a strong grasp of both static and current affairs.

Current Affairs: Highlights from the Exam

Some of the memory-based questions from the Current Affairs part included:

  • Name of the first train to launch an ATM on board
  • Details about the Henley Passport Index
  • ICC Player of the Year 2024
  • Recent space achievements by India
  • Question related to the foreign university setting up a campus in India under NEP 2020
  • Questions related to recent awards and recognitions

General Knowledge (Static GK): Topics Covered

The General Awareness (GA) portion featured questions from various domains of general knowledge, such as:

  • Upper layers of the cloud in atmospheric science
  • The layer of the atmosphere where airplanes fly
  • Questions related to gases and their properties
  • Inscriptions of Emperor Ashoka
  • Questions from science, geography, history, and environmental studies

Part III: Reasoning, Mental Ability & Legal Aptitude

The Reasoning, Mental Ability & Legal Aptitude section in the AUPGAT 2025 LLB 3-Year Entrance Exam was one of the most engaging parts of the paper. Many students found this section relatively easier and were familiar with most of the questions asked.

Reasoning & Mental Ability: Topics Included

This portion tested analytical thinking and logical problem-solving through a variety of standard reasoning questions. Some key topics included:

  • Blood Relations
  • Missing Numbers
  • Odd One Out
  • Venn Diagrams and Sets
  • Direction Sense Test
  • Calendar-based Questions
  • Other common logical reasoning patterns

Legal Aptitude: Questions Overview

The Legal Aptitude sub-section assessed basic legal awareness and understanding of fundamental legal concepts. It included:

  • Questions on famous case laws like Kesavananda Bharati v. State of Kerala
  • Topics related to constitutional amendments
  • Relevance of the French Revolution in shaping the Indian Constitution
  • Legal terminology and legal maxims – e.g., Caveat Emptor and one other
  • Books and authors related to law and constitutional development
  • A situational question related to legal liability

This section-wise analysis is intended to help you understand the question pattern, important topics, and areas of focus, so you can plan your preparation more effectively. Remember this discussion is based on memory, so many other questions are missed; prepare yourself fully with respect to the syllabus as prescribed.
